Growing up in the limelight can’t be easy. Especially when your mom and dad are two of the most important political leaders in America.

“I’ve always been aware of both how extraordinarily normal and how extraordinarily extraordinary my life has been,” Clinton said in a 2012 interview with Vogue, a piece lauded as Chelsea’s political coming out party.

Like many millennials, despite her parent’s rather linear career path, Clinton found herself directed by multiple callings, mostly to the private sector -including a stint on Wall Street – and then in education. Now, she does work for The Clinton Foundation and The Clinton Global Initiative, but it wasn’t until recently that she stepped out of her parents shadow an became an outspoken advocate in politics. Very recently.

As the Washington Post reports, “In recent days, we’ve noticed a different Chelsea Clinton – one more than willing to speak out, often a bit bluntly. And she’s speaking out specifically against President Trump, using his preferred medium: Twitter.”

In the two weeks since Trump took office, Chelsea Clinton’s twitter account has grown both in its vocality and its partisanship, taking on issues like immigration, terrorism, and fake news. Despite her newness to the art of 140 op-eds (most of her tweets before were on charities or causes) she has done so with much flare, acclaim, and unlike KellyAnne Conway’s rebuttal to Clinton’s tweets, sans personal insults.

Despite her partisan stance, Clinton has also been a staunch defender of Trump’s youngest son, Barron (10), who was recently attacked on social media, stating that he, “deserves the chance to be a kid.”

Chelsea herself was mocked by conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh during her father’s presidency, and again on an SNL skit. Chelsea was also surrounded by the various scandals that plagued the Clintons throughout her childhood and well into her college years – including her freshman semester when her father’s most infamous scandal broke. Perhaps it was for these reasons that the young Clinton didn’t desire to seek life in the public eye, and her path towards The Clinton Foundation and her mother’s campaign was what many have deemed by some to be slow and winding.

Though Clinton has always been active on Twitter, only within these past few weeks has she surged to forefront of the political conversation, garnering as many as 200,000 likes for some of her posts.

Clinton is being praised by the left for her recent vocality. However, rumors surrounding the future of the young democrat are clouding conservative conversation, which most often positions Clinton as using her Twitter account in a lead up to charge for a future Congressional seat.

Fox News, covering an articulate first appearing in The New York Post reported that, “Chelsea would be the next extension of the Clinton brand. While politics isn’t the life Hillary wanted for Chelsea, she chose to go on the campaign trail for her mother and has turned out to be very poised, articulate and comfortable with the visibility.”

What do you think? Is Chelsea Clinton getting ready to run for office? Or has she finally found her voice?
