Black Women In Media (BWIM), the renowned platform created for and by women of color in media and entertainment, has announced its honorees for the 7th Annual BWIM Awards & Conference taking place on Wednesday, March 28th and Thursday, March 29thin New York City. The spectacular two-day event will honor 15+ extraordinary African-American women who dominate various fields within media: Entertainment, Journalism, TV, and Radio to name a few.
Honorees include Cathy Hughes, Founder & Chairperson of Radio One Inc.; Latham Thomas, Author and celebrity wellness & lifestyle guru; Michele Thornton Ghee, Senior Vice President at BET & Head of Sales at BET Her; Yodit Tewolde, legal analyst & attorney; Ericka Pittman, Chief Marketing Officer at Aquahydrate; Dewanda Wise, star of Netflix’s She’s Gotta Have It; and Tamika Mallory, activist & National Co-Chair of the Women’s March.
The BWIM Awards & Conference will kickoff on Wednesday, March 28th with an empowering day-long conference featuring industry panels, engaging seminars, small business exhibitions, VIP workshops, a beauty lounge, and more. Closing out the two-day event, on Thursday, March 29th, is the highly anticipated awards ceremony celebrating and honoring notable Black professional women who have tremendously contributed to the media industry.
Honorees were selected and will be recognized next month via the following categories: Communications, Radio, Digital, Print, TV, News & Journalism, Woman of the Year, Living Legend, Voice Honoree, Quintessential Honoree, Wordsmith Honoree, Changemaker Honoree, and Influencer Honoree.
Alongside co-hosts Eboni K. Williams, author & attorney, and Lyndsay Christian, TV personality and producer, attendees and honored guests will experience two inspiring days filled with #BlackGirlMagic!
