Before the hit song, 9to5 was an inspiring movement for equality that encapsulated the spirit of both the women’s and labor movement.

Join NMBS and the Society of Professional Journalists Rio Grande Chapter for a screening and discussion of 9to5: The Story of a Movement By Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar.

When Dolly Parton sang “9 to 5,” she was doing more than just shining a light on the professional fate of American women. Parton was singing the autobiographical tale of a movement that started with 9to5, a group of Boston secretaries in the early 1970s.

Following the film join a panel discussion moderated by journalists Megan Kamerick and Jerry Redfern.

Hosted by NMPBS.
