BRIC's two Community Media TV Networks—Brooklyn Free Speech and BRIC TV—come together to bring you a unique opportunity; the BRIC Community Media TV & Film Pitch Series. Now in its third year, the series was created with one goal in mind— to turn media dreamers into media makers.

So you have an idea for a TV show or film— now what? The ability to express an idea is almost as important as the idea itself and we are eager to help you with that. The BRIC Community Media TV & Film Pitch Series gives you the opportunity to practice and perfect your pitch skills over the course of six months in front of industry heavy hitters, and a live audience.

The four part series will culminate in November with you having a shot to pitch your TV show or film to BRIC TV, an Emmy, Ippy, and Telly-award winning TV channel and digital network, whose work has been screened at prominent festivals such as the Tribeca Film Festival and Sundance.

Caralene Robinson built a career as a marketing expert at companies such as Coca Cola and Sprint. Most recently, she was executive vice president and chief marketing officer at VH1 and Logo, responsible for all marketing, creative and digital functions. In 2011 Caralene co-founded Coffee Bluff Pictures with filmmaker and advertising executive Deborah Riley Draper. Versailles ’73: American Runway Revolution (Executive Producer, 2012) is currently being adapted into a feature. Olympic Pride, American Prejudice (Producing Executive, 2016) was nominated for a 2017 NAACP Image Award. In 2017, Robinson stepped out on faith in an effort to bring her creative voice to the forefront as writer/director of the scripted short The Bill. Caralene’s upcoming projects include King Ester (Executive Producer, 2018) and her next scripted short Untitled in White (and Black) (Writer/Director, 2018). Caralene has a BBA in Marketing from Howard University and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Jason Samuels is an Emmy Award-winning news and documentary producer and an associate professor of journalism at New York University. During his 25-year career, Jason has worked as a long-form producer at NBC News, ABC News, ESPN, HBO, and CNN. Currently, Jason is producing an independent feature-length documentary on the former NBA-star Stephon Marbury and develops primetime news specials and original documentaries for Black Entertainment Television. Most recently Jason produced a two-hour documentary on the Obama Presidency with producer/director Stanley Nelson and a one-hour documentary on the Black Lives Matter Movement with executive producer Jesse Williams. Both projects aired on BET.

Snypes Murdock is a confident, creative, and highly qualified producer / director with over 10 years of distinguished performance. Murdock is able to bring digital and linear expertise, combining high-quality production and creative concepts to build fresh original content. He is a proactive manager, team builder and tactical planner with the ability to attract, secure, and maintain key players in building strong and lasting business relationships. Murdock is currently the director of digital originals at BET.

Squeaky Moore is regarded as the pitch guru for independent content creators. Squeaky freelances as a development consultant and pitching strategist. Squeaky’s mission is to enlighten, uplift, and inspire. Some of  Moore’s recent directing and producing credits include, 64, a viral PSA project that she executive produced and assist directed, Father’s Day?, a short film also produced by Squeaky which debuted on the launch of Magic Johnson’s, Aspire TV Network. Others include The Positive Controversy, a digital talk-show in its second season, and the documentary, Face of Darkness - Journey to Healing, a film that explores depression and suicide in the African American communities. She recently authored a book for content creators after journeying to pitch 100 times. The book, #100Pitches: Mistakes, I’ve Made So You Don’t Have To, is a film and television pitching guide geared towards independent content creators about the do’s and don’ts, and strategy of pitching television and film projects.


Kecia Élan Cole is an Emmy-nominated, and New York Press Club Award winning TV Producer and Editor. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Kent State University, where she founded and edited an on-campus magazine. Kecia’s editing work has been featured in music videos by Talib Kweli and Fat Man Scoop, and a short film by noted filmmakers Malik Sayeed and Arthur Jafa. She has also freelanced with ABC's Good Morning America Now and BET. She is currently a Senior Producer and Editor for BRIC TV where she is a series producer on: B-SideBrooklyn Made, and Brooklyn Is Masquerading As The World with Terence Nance, and is an executive producer on two scripted series: BK3K and Sole Kings with Michael "Boogie" Pinckney— a series all about sneaker culture.
