Want to learn how to build your own website? Already have your own site and want to have more control over it? Interested in learning to program but want to start small? If you answered yes to any of the questions above, this course is for you!

This beginner course will guide you through the basics of HTML and CSS to assist you along the way as you develop your own website.

Tech Requirements:

Your laptop. Note: A netbook or tablet is NOT a substitute.

A modern browser with either Chrome and the "Web Developer" extension or Firefox and Firebug installed.

A text editor. We recommend Sublime Text 3 (It's free and available for both Mac and PC) or Atom.

About the Teacher:

A proud graduate of Tyler School of Art's Graphic and Interactive Design Program, Alex Lash is a designer and front-end developer in Center City, Philadelphia. Design is her primary passion but she also loves the craftsmanship involved in programming unique, future-friendly websites. When not poking around the internet for inspiration, Alex is probably dreaming about travel, playing lots of Ultimate frisbee, or doodling.

Parking:

There is metered street parking (quarters only) around 1313 Innovation and it's free after 6:00pm and on weekends.

The recommended parking lot is Colonial Parking at 12th and Orange Streets. The entrance is on Orange Street. This lot is open from 7am - 9pm.

Notes:

Please plan to either pack a lunch or have a place nearby in mind to grab food; lunch will be 30 minutes.
