Celebrate the opening of our special exhibition Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power with Soul in the Horn, New York City’s favorite dance party bringing together horn-infused music by world renowned DJs and legendary musicians. Taking inspiration from regional geographies represented within the exhibition—Chicago, Oakland, Los Angeles, New York, and cities throughout the South—Soul in the Horn creates a sonic experience inspired by these key sites of creative production from the 1960s through the 1980s. The evening features DJ sets by Natasha Diggs, DJ Spinna, and Stutz McGee, and live music by instrumentalists Lakecia Benjamin, Casey Benjamin, and Kenyatta Beasley on horns.
Hosted by Brooklyn Museum of Art.
