Venassa Omoruna is a Nigerian Canadian who is passionate about empowering the voices of black women. She grew up in Brampton Ontario and was surrounded by a warm and loving Nigerian family which instilled core values or empathy, tenacity, and ambition. Venassa went to the Richard Ivey School of Business and now currently works as a consultant at Accenture Interactive. Outside of work Venassa hosts a podcast called "Black Girl Galaxy" which explores the stories of Black Canadian women and shines a light on the injustices black people face on a regular basis. In addition, the podcast is meant to serve as a safe space for black women to learn more about themselves and hear uplifting stories about black people. Venassa hopes to continue to shine a light on the systemic racism here in Canada as we all too often see it as a problem only faced by African Americans.
