6:30-7:30pm: PRODUCE YOUR OWN WORK WITH MOLLY PEARSON
Molly will talk about the ins and outs & ups and downs of developing new work and opportunities for yourself as an artist. As a producer, Molly has worked with some of the industry's finest actors, directors, and writers, and her projects have garnered Drama Desk nominations, an OBIE Award, numerous NYTimes Critic's picks, and awards at film festivals worldwide. Since 2007, she's become a leading voice in arts entrepreneurship, teaching artists how to create their own work via her Leap Workshops program, at various colleges and universities, and as a speaker at national arts conferences and panels. 7:45-8:45pm: MASTER CLASS WITH MONOLOGUE EXPERT KAREN KOHLHAAS
Karen will coach a few monologues from the group (be ready to work, no advance signups), and she will also talk about the best ways to select, cut and edit monologues. Please bring the texts of any monologues you have questions about - Karen will talk about how to find material that is a great fit for you for different kinds of auditions. Karen is an Atlantic Theater Company founding member, director, and senior teacher. She has been teaching her popular NYC monologue classes for over 20 years, and is the author/creator of three books and a DVD on monologues and auditions.
