On February 18th, (as part of AlleyNYC's HER event series) we are hosting a HER event specifically for women who are in the business of making other women feel good. Whether it's hair, skincare, fashion, makeup... these women have made it their goal to enhance our lives.

The HER series overall celebrates + highlights the various identities that are involved with being a woman in different industries. We've had four editions so far that have featured women in tech, women in comedy, Latina women (for hispanic heritage month), and women product designers. This month, we are showcasing amazing women who work in the beauty industry.

Featured Women:

Alanna Gregory [CEO of Vive]

Our founder Alanna, is a self-professed “beauty junkie." Yet, as a busy and career-minded woman working on Wall Street, blowouts, manicures and other beauty services were part of her weekly routine to look and feel her best. As her time had become a precious commodity, Alanna suddenly realized that the process of finding and securing her most-looked-forward-to appointments had become a chore, so much so that it had taken the fun out of her favorite weekly services. Getting a last-minute appointment was next to impossible, and when she was able to snag one, she always seemed to pay an arm and leg. But what was a curly-haired girl to do?Alanna quickly learned that she wasn’t alone; curly and straight-haired ladies alike felt her pain. So, in 2013, she set out to bring back the fun or that joie de vivre back into beauty services. Alanna started Vive with the belief that you should be able to look and feel your best each and every day, on your own terms. And that great hair days should be available for all.
