Shiba Russell - News Anchor, 11 Alive
Shiba Russell is the newest anchor of 11Alive, Atlanta's NBC station. She was recently named evening co-anchor of the 5pm, 6pm, and 11pm weekday news; a position that officially begins in February. She currently co-anchors 'Atlanta Alive' each weekday morning, 5am-7am on 11Alive and 7am-8am on the WATL.
Russell previously worked at NBC 4 New York, where she co-anchored the Noon and 5:30 p.m. weekday newscasts. She is a 7-time Emmy award-winning journalist who has covered breaking news stories across the country, including 9/11, the Sandy Hook school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, and Hurricane Sandy. Before heading to NYC, she worked as an anchor/reporter in Boston, Pittsburgh and the Bronx. Russell has also contributed to numerous team awards; a National Emmy, several Edward R. Murrow and National Headliner awards.
Russell is actively involved in non-profit organizations that provide educational opportunities for underserved young students and is a mentor to young girls who aspire to become journalists.
Russell graduated magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, from the College of New Rochelle. She earned a Master of Science degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Russell lives in Metro Atlanta with her daughter.
Tai Beauchamp, media personality/entrepreneur
An internationally recognized style influencer, public speaker, media personality, and entrepreneur, Tai Beauchamp inspires women around the world to celebrate their inner and outer beauty. A publishing industry veteran, Tai has expertise in media, fashion, and beauty that has been solidified through her experience as a beauty and fashion editor at top publications, including Harpers Bazaar, Good Housekeeping, O, The Oprah Magazine and Seventeenwhere she made history as the magazine's youngest and first African-American beauty and fitness director. Tai frequently presents on topics ranging from entrepreneurship and girl power to stylish living and 21st century philanthropy for universities and organizations including The Clinton Foundation and Harvard Business School. In 2006, she launched her game-changing media company, Tai Life Media, to holistically connect style and empowerment and has since worked with Fortune 100 and 500 consumer brands including P&G, Wal-Mart, Este Lauder, Christian Dior Cosmetics, and Viacom. Currently, Tai is a judge on GSN's latest retail competition show Window Warriors.
Maura Chanz, CEO of Glitter + Hustle, Founder of TRIBE
Maura began her career at the age of thirteen as a professional actress. It was during this time that she further developed her love for and understanding of storytelling. She has since held positions as a 360 Marketing and Branding intern for Viacom Media Industries-BET, a media intern for both the Bronze Lens Film Festival and the Black Womens Film Network, and later served as a creative intern for True Story Agency where she brainstormed and assisted in content development for major brands.
Upon completion of her B.A. from Spelman College where she majored in Comparative Women's Studies - concentrating in Digital Media and Marketing, Maura set out to fill a void she felt was present in the corporate world. After graduating, she discovered that tremendous potential lied in being the change she wanted to see in the world and hiring herself. Consequently, Glitter & Hustle was born.
