This event is the first of Setu Yoga's new series titled Identity, which focuses on particular aspects of being. The guest practitioner will be Liana Naima, who will guide you in an exploration of your relationship with your body, through a breathwork and meditation practice. There will be time for you to share in conversation answering questions like:

How do you feel in your body?
What is your relationship with your emotions?
How do you communicate with your body through food, stillness, movement, and pleasure?
How has your body shaped your identity?

All you need are comfortable clothes. MINKA will provide cushions and mats. There will be light refreshments at the end to replenish and ground your body.

Breathwork Meditation Description:
The breath is a tool to awaken you to the sacredness of life. Through the breath you can tap into transcendent states, self-heal from various internal disturbances, and come back to your core essence.

Breathwork is an active meditation used to move and release stagnant energy. The breath helps us to recognize where we are holding on energetically to past emotional and mental disturbances. When you recognize where you are holding on to the past, the breath can be used to pierce through that tension to allow you to connect with a higher energetic state. Breathwork brings to light the very aliveness of your body and how subtle energy is or is not flowing throughout your vessel. The practice of deep, conscious breathing acts as purification of the mind and body for subtle energy to move more freely, and for you to recognize your power as your own healer. Breathwork stirs up past emotional experiences for the mind-body to heal and to lighten the energetic load we are all carrying.

This meditation will focus on three breath work patterns you can utilize in your personal practice. Liana will begin the meditation with the cleansing breath to calm your mind, delve into vocal toning with belly breathing, and then allow the journey to unfold individually with a more rapid breathwork pattern to bring to light any blockages for transmutation.
