Onward Together has a simple goal: They want to connect organizations in the DC area with the people who are eager to work toward progressive social justice for the next four years (and beyond). After Election Day, there was an overwhelming wave of support for the people, causes, and organizations that could be threatened under the new administration. Some are fortunate to live in a city that is filled with countless opportunities to volunteer for worthy causes, as well as driven, politically-engaged, caring people who are invested in our future. The hope is this event will be an easy way to recruit new volunteers and raise awareness and involvement.
Please join on February 18, 2017 at the Friends Meeting House in Dupont Circle from 12-4 pm. Each organization will have a table set up so you can meet with current volunteers and find out how you can get involved in their causes.
Participating organizations so far include:
DC Abortion Fund
Define American
Emerge America
J Street LEAD
MomsRising
Muslim Public Affairs Council
National Iranian American Council
Planned Parenthood
Sierra Club
Women's Information Network
And more!
