During this engaging event, founder Sil Lai Abrams will use Truth In Reality’s Media Advocacy Toolkit to lead an interactive presentation on how media consumers can critically analyze the media they are consuming and become change agents in the Redefining HERstory movement to reshape the media representation of women of color.  Attendees will be shown clips from popular media to illustrate how these images are contributing toward a culture of violence between and against women of color, followed by an opportunity for attendees to share their voices on the greater social impact of themediasociety is consuming. This event is a forum to discuss how Truth In Reality and attendees can use their collective influence to empower others to become change agents and help reshape the way women and girls of color are portrayed in the media on a global level.
