About Ela Thier
Ela Thier is an Israeli-American filmmaker and instructor, based in New York. Her feature film, FOREIGN LETTERS, which she wrote, directed and produced, is a dramedy about her personal immigration story, was sponsored by B&H Photo and distributed by Film Movement and Go2Films (2012). The film has won numerous awards and has screened world-wide. It is now available on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and most other digital platforms. She is also the co-writer of PUNCTURE, a legal drama about corruption in the health-care industry, starring Chris Evans (Fantastic Four, Captain America). The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and released by Millenium Films (2011). Her script, THE WEDDING COW, is a romantic comedy directed by Tomi Streiff, and produced by Sudwestrundfunk, a major German TV network. The film won eighteen international awards including four Best Feature and four Audience Choice awards. Thier is currently in development on her next feature, to be produced this year
