The Diversity Discussion in Television & Video gathers business leaders in TV and video, agencies, and production, corporate responsibility and advocacy, as well as talent. This event is where these leaders are invited to share their individual perspectives in a dialogue on the business of TV and video. Attendees and presenters alike, will take a closer look at how the industry can improve ways to include diverse talent, staff and audience segments defined by their ethnicity; nationality; regional or cultural identity; religious affiliation; gender; or LGBT orientation.
CELEBRATING DIFFERENCES BY HONORING THOSE WHO ARE LEADING THE WAY
The event opens with the exciting luncheon featuring a Keynote interview and the presentation of the Awards for Diversity in TV and Video. The Awards celebrate the contributions of individual executives, talent, directors and producers as well as recognizes outstanding television series, documentaries or special programs. Awards are presented by celebrities in 14 different categories.
A DIALOGUE THAT EXPLORES DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
The afternoon program follows the awards luncheon. The program features presentations, and sessions designed to engage a dialogue among panelists and attendees about the growth of diversity and inclusion in TV and video. The afternoon sessions focus in three (3) areas:
1. Staffing & Casting. Embracing diversity on the screen, and in the front office
2. Attracting Audiences. Promoting “tune-in” to diverse audience segments
3. Story-telling Accurately depicting diversity in new productions
