The Leadher Foundation is doing their part in the city of Houston to ensure no young woman gets left behind due to their minority background or socioeconomic limitations. Their mission is to empower young at-risk girls to expand their horizons, pursue their dreams, and leave with the tools to live life to their fullest potential. The foundation is dedicated to the advancement of at-risk females between the ages of 14-18 in the community through education, sponsorship and mentoring. This organization is led by volunteers who have a passion for encouraging young girls to be active participants and contributors to their communities. Together they hope they can be the model and example they aspire to be in hopes to set them on a path to a bright future. LeadHer believes mentoring these girls is the catalyst that would provoke a change in their mindsets of what they can become.
LeadHer foundation helps with the realization that there is no limit which cannot be broken. They serve to empower, mentor and sponsor young ladies to be the best of who they can be through a host of programs and initiatives. LeadHer’s annual Wellness Day aims to provide a fun-filled day for fitness junkies and community minded individuals no matter your fitness style- cardio, soccer, volleyball and yoga. They will also have board games to sharpen your mental skills. The event will also double as a school supply drive where proceeds will be used to provide school supplies for at-risk high school female students. Attendees are asked to donate a minimum of $15 which includes a cool t-shirt! Grab your friends and family to support this great cause during the back-to-school time.
