Pittsburgh’s Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs Rally (P.O.W.E.R) is an annual celebration of the contribution local women make to life sciences and healthcare. P.O.W.E.R. 2016 focuses on how women are using science and technology to help protect women from harm.
During P.O.W.E.R. 2016, WIB-Pittsburgh will showcase public and private sector crusaders who forge new ways to prevent and prosecute violent victimization through innovative science, technology, and legislation: A local attorney will describe limitations inherent in our legal system which prevent swift prosecution of these cases, as well as the impact of technological advancements on her ability to protect the innocent. Additionally, a major biotech product development company specialist will describe how technological capabilities have evolved, helping to generate and assess evidence used in these cases.
