Forbes reported that 12.7% of the full-time workforce has opted to work from home in 2023. Now, you may be used to the break room and other perks of working in-office, but there are several ways to make working at home just as comfortable. Here are five accessories you can add to your office to make remote work smoother.

Blue Light Glasses

When you work from home, you are spending upwards of eight to 10 hours staring at a screen, at least. And while that is OK for the first few days, as the weeks go on, this could have lasting damage to your eyes. To help with this problem, consider investing in a pair of eyeglasses with blue light. This light will protect your eyes and make looking at a screen for work a cakewalk. Also, according to Harvard Health, utilizing blue light can make your body feel more alert, which is needed when it comes to those boring meetings.

Noise-Canceling Headphones

Working at home means there can be a lot of noise in your background. Whether it’s your kids running around or a random car alarm going off in the neighborhood, these factors can become a major distraction. Get rid of the entire problem by investing in a great pair of noise-canceling headphones. Not only will this solve the noise issue while working from home, but it can also come in handy when traveling or working out in the future.

Foot Massager

One of the most annoying results of working from home is all the leg and foot pain you endure from sitting at your desk all day. That being said, there is an easy fix, so you’ll never have to go through that discomfort ever again. Order a foot massager that will ease your pain and fit comfortably underneath your office desk so that no one in your meetings even knows you’re using it!

Bluetooth Speaker

If you love listening to music while working, this accessory is for you. Bring the party to your office by adding a speaker and placing it on your desk. You could even prepare a specific music playlist to play while you are at work to help you through the day.

Smart Notebook

For some people, writing down notes and important information during work is the best way to retain the information. However, it can get stressful trying to track down your notebooks and journals. Instead of having a pile of written books, invest in a smart notebook. These notebooks allow you to write on a single piece of paper, take an image of it, and scan it into your computer. You then erase/wipe off the page and can use the one page for years’ worth of writing.
