On average, college graduates earn $433 more per month than people who only have high school diplomas. With the opportunity to make an extra $5,200 per year, getting that college degree is obviously worth it. Unfortunately, you still have to support yourself and in some cases your whole family while taking classes.

If you’re struggling to make ends meet, consider these five ways to support your family while getting a degree.

1. Sell Amway Products:

You will need a flexible schedule to make money while earning your degree. If work interferes with your classes, then it’s probably not the right job for you. Today’s classes are what will help you make more money in the future.

By selling Amway products, you get to set your own schedule. In fact, people who sell Amway products are independent business owners who get to decide when and where they work. That means your work will never have to get in the way of your education.

This is an especially good opportunity for students majoring in business. When you graduate, you not only have a degree, but evidence that you know how to run your own business profitably.

2. Drive With Uber:

Uber offers some of the advantages of selling Amway products. For instance, Uber drivers are independent contractors who set their own hours. If you have a few spare hours during the evening, you can sign in and start making money. If, however, you know that you need to study for a test, you can take the night off to concentrate on work for school.

Since you don’t have to set a schedule, you have some control over how much money you make. The more you drive, the more you make.

Where you live can also influence how much you earn. The average Uber driver makes a little over $19 per hour. If you live in New York City, San Francisco, or another large city, though, you can expect to earn considerably more.

3. Sell Your Photographs:

You don’t need experience working as a professional photographer to start selling your images. In fact, some buyers prefer slightly amateurish photos that look more genuine than professional photographs.

Selling images is probably a lot easier than you think. If you have a smartphone, then you are ready to start. The Foap app puts you in touch with all types of image buyers. When you post images to the app, buyers can purchase them for $10. You get $5 and Foap keeps the other half.

4. Blog About Your Studies:

You already spend a lot of time learning new things for class. Why not turn that knowledge into money by writing a blog? You can either start your own site or find a content company that hires experts in your field.

If you decide to start your own blog, then you will want to use advertising or affiliate marketing to earn money. It may take a while for you to see significant earnings, but your pay should increase as your growing blog attracts more traffic.

Keep in mind that this isn’t an easy way to make money. It takes a lot of planning and work. The good news is that you can work from home, so you won’t need to hire a babysitter.

After graduation, you can also use your blog to show potential employers that you already have experience.

5. Tutor Other Students:

If you are more of a one-on-one type of person, you may want to tutor other students instead of writing a blog.

Many schools have tutoring programs that will help you find students. You can also establish yourself as an independent tutor by advertising in the school paper or online.

In addition to earning extra money as a tutor, you can reinforce your own learning. Becoming an effective tutor forces you to learn material that you might not focus on if left to your own devices. Plus, helping someone else understand difficult material is a good way to solidify it in your own mind.

Supporting a family while going to school is never easy. Exploring these opportunities, however, could make it possible for you to get the education you need for future success.
