5 Ways To Take Your Goals From Dream To Reality In 2017
If you look back over your vision board, dream book or goal card– do you feel accomplished or are you asking yourself “where did the time go?”
If you’re ending the year the same way it started, something is not right. If your last 5 vision boards have the exact same goals, something isn’t right. That means no progress is being made and you’re no closer to your purpose than you were in the past.
That stops here.
It’s time to take what’s yours in 2017– and it’s going to require some real work.
Here are five things you have do to get what you want:
#1 Stop listening to everyone else
This is hands-down the number one thing that holds so many people back. If you’re going to fulfill your life’s purpose you have to stop being held hostage by the thoughts and opinions of others. THEY DON’T KNOW. Even if they want the best for you and are simply “trying to help” you have to be able to help yourself. Learn to trust your gut because you already have everything you need to answer any question that could ever come up. You have to learn to trust yourself more than you trust everyone else.
#2 Position yourself by becoming your best
If you’re going to be successful, you have to have a solid foundation to build on. It doesn’t matter how bomb your products or services are if the boss behind the brand is not operating at her best. It’s your duty to educate yourself in order to guarantee continuous evolution. You owe it to yourself to focus on self-development of your total person: mentally, physically, spiritually, financially, emotionally, etc. One great way to do this is by incorporating a self-care plan into your routine.
#3 Adjust your environment
Successful people thrive in environments that are conducive to their success. It’s up to you to surround yourself with people who are going where you want to go, not just ones who are from where you’ve been. Create relationships with people who can add value to your life. If you’re busy being bestie’s with someone just because you’re comfortable with them- that comfort can kill your dreams. You have to align yourself with people and go places that will elevate you.
#4 Check yourself
Don’t wait for someone else to come along and tell you what you need to do. Get really real with yourself about your strengths and weaknesses and figure out where to go from here. If you’re going to be successful, you have to hold yourself to a certain standard and be willing to improve by any means necessary.
#5 Set specific goals + strategize to achieve them
By being specific about what you want, you’re better able to create a strategy. Your goals mean nothing without a strategy. So once you’ve created that cute vision board, write down what it’s going to take to bring it to life. You have to get clear about what it is that you truly want if you’re going to be able to make it happen. Confusion costs, clarity saves.
