A Royal Adventure: These Destinations Are Perfect For All The ‘Bridgerton’ Vibes
Dearest gentle readers, the second half of the third season of “Bridgerton” is almost upon us (arriving on Netflix June 13). While we wait with bated breath to see whether Penelope agrees to marry Colin or whether her identity as Lady Whistledown will threaten their happily ever after, we are dreaming up ways to live out our own “Bridgerton” fantasies. With that in mind, here are six destinations perfect for your next romantic getaway:
Villa Bokeh, Antigua, Guatemala
A true oasis steeped in creativity and history, Villa Bokeh’s 15 bedrooms are seated in the heart of a six-acre garden reminiscent of a “Bridgerton”-era promenade with the object of your desire. The hotel’s restaurant, Bokeh 3.1, is a contemporary reinvention of a castle conservatory worthy of a Lady Danbury soiree. Just as this royal star pays close attention to detail so, too, does Villa Bokeh: Its rooms feature colonial architecture with a modern twist, handcrafted woodwork and local textiles, along with the signature handmade bird tile.
In addition to imagining themselves entering society at such a party, guests can enjoy the history of a villa based on two pillars: a love for art and a romantic love story. The home was originally built for a couple of art lovers for their family who helped to raise and homeschool more than 10 orphan girls, according to their website.
Barnsley Resort, Barnsley, Ga.
History comes to life at the Barnsley Resort, where guests can explore 3,000 acres of nature including the Manor House Ruins and Gardens. A true Southern estate in a storybook setting, the story of the Barnsley Resort is akin to the tragedy of love faced by Queen Charlotte and King George – Godfrey Barnsley built the estate for his beloved wife Julia, who passed away before the home was completed.
One could imagine the season’s most exclusive party being held at Barnsley Resort, complete with Regency-era activities such as horseback riding, archery and Beretta Shooting Grounds.
Meritage Resort And Spa, Napa Valley, Calif.
When the summer heat is too much for the ton, our Bridgerton cast escapes to the country, much the same way you can escape to wine country at Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa Valley. This elegant, Mission-style vineyard and resort sprawls over 36 acres and gives guests the sense they simply don’t have to worry about a thing.
It wouldn’t be social season without good food, and Meritage’s culinary and wine experiences offer the perfect way to socialize at award-winning farm-to-table restaurants, a premier steakhouse and vineyard picnics reminiscent of the Bridgerton families’ days spent playing pall-mall on the lawn.
Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort And Spa, Tuscany, Italy
Live like Queen Charlotte herself and visit the Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa. This 180-room property is nestled in the Lucca countryside and features breathtaking mountain views and luxury accommodations like marble bathrooms, a beauty spa, and a heated indoor pool, among other amenities. You can also enjoy perks like wake up calls, daily housekeeping, and room service in the backdrop of the boutique town of Barga.
Plot an important meet up or solo rendezvous in the hotel’s library lounge that’s reminiscent of Anthony’s study (but, thankfully, doesn’t come with any of the stress of managing an entire household).
Argos In Cappadocia, Cappadocia, Turkey
This gentle reader can’t believe how perfect Argos in Cappadocia is for a “Bridgerton”-themed getaway, especially with the opportunity to explore Cappadocia via hot air balloon ride. (In our fantasy, let’s hope Colin doesn’t have to save the day again – or maybe let’s hope a fine man like him does).
From the bespoke cave suite featuring an indoor pool and private balcony to the romantic jacuzzi suite Argos in Cappadocia is the perfect setting for a post-nuptial adventure. You and your beau can have your own Simon-and-Daphne moment where he’ll definitely say he “burns for” you.
Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club, Brewster, Mass.
Tucked away in the sleepy Cape Cod town of Brewster, Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club offers guests both a historic beachfront mansion and villas with private beach access to help you feel as if you’re a true member of high society.
This award-winning resort offers spa services featuring accents from the ocean, manicure and pedicure stations, and the opportunity to rest and relax device-free so you can be fully pampered and prepped to present yourself as the diamond of the season.
