Arian Simone, Miss Diddy, And More Gather For The Black Enterprise ‘Disruptor Summit’
Black Enterprise held its 2nd annual “Disruptor Summit,” connecting, celebrating, and empowering Black creatives, entrepreneurs and innovators across industries, from May 17-18 in Atlanta. Attendees at the two-day event enjoyed panel discussions, workshops, and fireside chats featuring Arian Simone, founder of the Fearless Fund, Lena Ford, CEO of Positively Lena and co-founder of the Kinship Family Initiative and Miss Diddy, CEO of The Brand Group Inc.
Entertainment mogul Nick Cannon, and hip hop legend, entrepreneur and sports podcaster Cam’ron, were also headlining guests.
According to a news release, the summit opened with a fireside chat between Cannon and Selena Hil, director of multiplatform content at Black Enterprise. The chat focused on Cannon’s unconventional approach to content and business ownership and navigating a long-term career in the entertainment industry.
Cam’ron participated in another fireside chat with Sidnee Douyon, senior digital editor at Black Enterprise, to talk about how he continues to make major business moves beyond the music industry and shared more on his lucrative podcast deal.
One of the event’s many highlights was the Disruptor Pitch Competition, where $15,000 was available for budding startup founders to pitch and be awarded.
The Summit closed out with the “Disruptor Award” event, which honored Simone, Ford, and Miss Diddy, who, according to the release, “received a standing ovation in response to the announcement that she will ‘no longer go by the name Miss Diddy, but by my natural born name, Candis Grace.'”
