The Money Isn’t Bad

No one likes to admit it, but most people’s main incentive to get out of bed and to work in the morning is because you need money to live. As already mentioned, nurses get paid a decent wage for the hard work that they do, which is a massive benefit. Of course, they aren’t overpaid by any means, but they are paid well. According to Nurse Salary Guide, the average salary for a registered nurse in The U.S is $67,930. Of course, it takes a lot of work and schooling to get to this wage, but once you’re there, you’re there, and you don’t have to do anything else besides your work.

There’s Always Work

It’s highly unlikely that there is ever going to be too many nurses. After all, the world’s population is getting higher, and people are living longer, which means that there’s going to be more and more sick people that need to be taken care of. This means that there is always going to be work available, unlike with other careers. You can find hundreds of jobs with a simple search and can apply on the Staffnurse.com website; It’s that simple.

There are sick people in every single corner of the world, so you can work pretty much wherever you want. You might find that different states and countries have different laws and regulations for nurses, but it’s not nearly as strict as law, for example. You can find nursing rules and regulations for all of the states at ncsbn.org. This means that you always have the freedom to move, even if it’s to a different country, and would still be able to find work. You could even become a freelance consulting nurse and travel across the country. This job security provides you peace of mind that is rare for most careers.

Great Job Flexibility

Not everyone wants to work the standard nine to five working hours. Some people much prefer to work in the evenings or even in the middle of the night. Luckily, people need care no matter the time of day, so you can work the hours that suit you. Of course, when you first start out, you’re going to have little control over your shifts, but once you’ve got a little more experience, you should be able to have some control over your hours. As a freelance nurse, you could have complete control over the hours and days that you work. A career in nursing isn’t easy, it’s actually quite the challenge, but for some people, this is a huge benefit. Not everyone enjoys the thought of routine, in fact, some people are completely bored by it, and crave days that diverse and offer new challenges every hour. If you became a nurse, I can guarantee that you’d never be bored. Of course, there are going to be days that you feel like you can’t take anymore, but then you’ll have a really comical patient that completely lifts your spirits. A nursing career also offers many different career paths for you to explore; You could work in a hospice or a school, become a psychiatric nurse, a military nurse, work in a doctor’s surgery or a hospital and so much more.

You Stay In Shape

If there’s one thing that you can say about nurses, it’s that they aren’t lazy. Nursing is the furthest thing from a desk job; You will be walking around all day, carrying things, lifting people, pushing, pulling, and running around like a headless chicken. Every day is like an intense workout, so you don’t have to visit the gym before or after work. You will also know a lot about how to keep the body healthy and will have heard all of the horror stories, so you’ll be unlikely to pick up or continue any unhealthy habits while you’re working as a nurse.

Some establishments even offer bonuses and tickets to films, plays, concerts, and sporting events to some of their employees. Of course, this will vary depending on where you are, and won’t be available to freelancers.

You Can Save A Life

With all of this and more, you are sure to be completely satisfied with your career as a nurse, but there is so much more to life than how much money you’re getting or the hours that you’re working. Plenty of people can say that they’re satisfied with their job, but nurses are so much different; They’re saving people’s lives every single day they work. Of course, there’s going to be days where people don’t make it, or there’s a really unpleasant patient, but this will all be forgotten when you see a really poorly person open their eyes and smile.
