#HerAgendaLive: Real-Time Resilience
When you’re driven to succeed, you don’t let anything get in your way… not even your emotions…. But we were curious about what this actually looked like as a practice. It’s not something we talk about often, it’s just something we deal with, often privately.
We called this panel… Real-time Resilience because the term is defined as “an internal skill to shut down counterproductive thinking and build motivation and focus on the task at hand. RTR is used when thoughts are distracting you from an immediate goal or task.” Meanwhile, within psychology compartmentalization is defined as a defense mechanism, or a coping strategy. It’s essentially how we’re able to deal with conflicting internal standpoints simultaneously.
So to help us with this conversation Her Agenda invited four amazing women.
Tia Williams, Copy Director Bumble and Bumble and the Author, of several novels including her most recent title The Perfect Find!
Dina Kaplan Founder, The Path — previously founder of Blip and before that an Emmy award winning news anchor.
Raqiyah Mays Author, Journalist, Radio Personality and she just debuted her critically acclaimed novel, The Man Curse.
Keli Goff Journalist, Screenwriter (she was on the writing team for season 3 of Being Mary Jane)
