If You Have A Friend That’s A Mom To Be, Here’s A Fun Treat For Them
Last year, a lot of my good friends started to enter the marriage phase of their lives. So, naturally, as the saying goes: first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes…a baby in a baby carriage.
One of my best friends from college Quiaria is among this group. It’s funny how when someone close to you experiences a major life update you almost feel like you’re going through it too. In our group chat we jokingly call her husband “our husband.”
With each of these incredible milestones there’s a chance to celebrate, but if you’re like me – in your twenties and celebrating these moments for the first time as an adult – deciding on the best gift can be hard. Specifically for me, since I don’t have children of my own, figuring out what to get an expecting mother is not something I have much experience with.
And let’s get real. These moments matter, and if the mom to be is someone you grew up with, that you really feel close to, you want to get her something special, unique and useful.
During this time there’s typically a ton of thought that goes into gifts for the baby, but what about gifts for the mom? There’s usually not a registry for what she may want and need, so as a friend to a mom-to-be I was happy to come across Bump Boxes.
Bump Boxes is a subscription box for new moms. Each box can be tailored to the mom’s due date and can continue until their little one’s first birthday!
Unlike other subscription boxes, it comes with full size items instead of samples. I got a chance to peak into the box before sending it over to my friend and I loved the items!
Her box included:
- ToGoSpa Under Eye Treatments
- Acure Coconut + Argan Oil Towelettes
- A BumpLife Sleep Mask (that says napping for two)
- Glow9 Pure + Organic Belly Butter
- Healthy Mama Protein Energy Drink
- And my personal favorite item: a book of 130+ recipes of alcohol free drinks called Momosa’s
The box is the perfect gift for my friend, who is having her little girl in October. I’ve known her since our freshman year of college and we’ve had many turn up moments over the years so I know she’ll get a kick out of the Momosa book.
Here’s how she reacted to her box:
The day we became friends she was serving Jell-O shots to everyone on her dorm room’s floor. Obviously she’s not drinking alcohol during her pregnancy but she can still make fun alcoholic drinks. And even before she was pregnant, I know from our college days that Quiaria enjoys a good nap.
I love the idea that this is also a subscription, because if your friend is in another city and you can’t be there physically at least you can let her know you’re thinking of her. What gifts have you gotten your friend expecting her first baby? Are you expecting or new mom? Are you a busy mom or looking to treat pregnant mom? Let us know (aka help a sister out with some suggestions!). And if you subscribe or get a subscription to BumpBoxes for your friend, share your experience with us using the hashtag #BumpBoxes.
[Thanks to BumpBoxes for sponsoring this post!]
