PRESS RELEASE—On Sunday, May 10, 2026, beginning at 11 a.m., Inspiring Body of Christ Church (IBOC Church) will host a special free Mother’s Day celebration as part of its Word and Worship Series, featuring a live concert performance by seven-time GRAMMY-winning artist Israel Houghton. Located at 7701 S. Westmoreland Avenue in Dallas, IBOC Church is proud to present this Mother’s Day Experience designed to honor mothers, create meaningful family memories, and provide comfort for those who may be grieving.

The celebration will include a Mother’s Day Parade showcasing the moms of IBOC, giving children and families an opportunity to spotlight and honor their mothers, along with Picnic with Mom, where attendees will be treated to free food in a fun, family-centered atmosphere. With the theme “Isn’t She / Wasn’t She Lovely?” inspired by Stevie Wonder’s classic hit, this event is a timeless, can’t-miss celebration for all generations. The event is free and open to the public, and registration is not required.

“This Mother’s Day Experience is for all mothers as we celebrate, uplift, and honor those walking in strength, those carrying unimaginable grief, and those honoring mothers who are no longer here. Come expecting comfort. Come expecting a connection. Come ready to feel something real. Whether she is present or remembered, she is lovely, she was lovely, and she will always be. And you do not have to carry it alone anymore,” said Pastor Rickie G. Rush, founder and senior pastor of IBOC Church.

Beyond celebration, the church is intentionally creating space for those who may find Mother’s Day difficult, including anyone grieving the loss of a mother and mothers grieving the loss of a child. A support group for grieving mothers will also be available, offering a safe and compassionate environment for connection and healing. The goal is to make Mother’s Day feel special, accessible, and restorative for all families.- The motivation behind this event is to give mothers a moment to be seen, celebrated, and honored, while also offering a space for comfort and community. Ultimately, IBOC Church hopes to remind the community that Mother’s Day can be both celebratory and compassionate.

“Our prayer is that every person who comes feels seen, comforted, and reminded that love does not disappear, even in grief,” said Pastor Rush.

This Mother’s Day, IBOC Church wants every family to feel seen. Whether you are coming to celebrate your mother, honor her memory, or simply be surrounded by love and community, this experience was created with everyone in mind. From the parade to the music to the Picnic with Mom, the heart behind it is simple: “Just bring your mother, and we’ll take care of the rest.”
