Keep It Colorful Compton: Workshop + Conversation with Mayor Aja Brown

DATE: July 17, 2018
TIME: 2:00 AM – 4:00 AM
COST: free
VENUE: Compton Community Center
ADDRESS: 301 N Tamarind Ave, Compton, CA 90220, USA
Meet Erika Alexander (Living Single, Get Out) actress, writer and co-founder of Color Farm Media to talk about the stories you’re telling, the stories you want to hear, and how we can all work together to get them out into the world. She’ll be joined by Compton Mayor Aja Brown for a conversation about the importance of film entrepreneurship and telling all our stories. Mayor Brown made history in 2013 at the age of 31 when she was elected the youngest mayor ever in the city of Compton.
After Erika and Mayor Brown speak, there will be a 90-minute workshop during which Seed&Spark CEO Emily Best and Head of Crowdfunding Gerry Maravilla will teach you the tools for how to build an audience and raise the funds to bring your story to life – the tools you will need to join the Keep it Colorful Rally this fall and get a chance to earn $25,000 in matching funds and a development deal with Color Farm and Black&Sexy TV.
Hosted in partnership with the Office of Mayor Aja Brown.
Keep It Colorful is a joint initiative between Color Farm Media, Seed&Spark and BLACK&SEXY TV to get 50 pilots by creators of color greenlit in 2018. If you want to be one of these creators, this event is for you!
