Megan Thee Stallion Lands Major First-Look Deal With Netflix
Megan Thee Stallion, the Grammy-winning rapper, songwriter, and philanthropist known for “Body,” “Hot Girl Summer,” and the Cardi B. collaboration “WAP,” has landed a first-look deal with streaming giant Netflix.
“I’ve always had a passion for telling creative and entertaining stories, so I’m thrilled about this partnership with Netflix,” the entertainer told Variety. “Venturing into production is the next step in my journey as an entrepreneur, and I can’t wait to bring all my ideas to life and for my Hotties to watch.”
The musician has appeared on television before, starring as a judge in HBO Max’s reality TV series Legendary, as a guest on Saturday Night Live, and in roles on popular shows including NBC’s Good Girls and Sarah Cooper’s Netflix comedy special, Everything’s Fine.
Tracey Pakosta, Netflix’s head of comedy, added, “Megan is a multi-talented creative force who has consistently made her mark on culture. She’s always growing and evolving as an artist, and we’re thrilled that she’s making a home at Netflix for this next chapter in her journey.”
Under the deal’s terms, she will create and executive produce new series and other projects. According to reports, no further details were shared about the specific type of content or series she will create or produce.
