Millennial Women in the Workplace [infographic]
As more millennial women enter the workforce more information is emerging about work trends and how this generation responds to challenges in the workplace.
According to a report by Accenture, 66 percent of millennial women surveyed say that they see visible female role models at their place of work, and 65 percent believed that women hold equal standing in the office.
Despite this finding, the report finds that millennial women are less likely to speak up at work as 45 percent of respondents said that they’d asked their boss for a raise, compared to 61 percent of men. And 41 percent feel that they are underpaid. But if one reads between the lines of the numbers reported, three out of four women discuss their career paths with their supervisors, even though the infographic highlights the number that one in four do not.
Another interesting take away is that almost half of millennial women feel they are not progressing in their careers due to lack of opportunities or a clear career path.
