Reactions: Kamala Harris And Donald Trump Face Off For Presidential Debate
On Tuesday, Sept. 10, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump faced off in presidential debate hosted by ABC News on Tuesday. There were several viral moments, with the two candidates talking about topics from immigration, to women’s reproductive rights, to foreign policy to their respective plans (or “concepts”) for leadership if they were to be elected.
Key Presidential Debate Points Addressed
Throughout the debate, the vice president called out the former president on multiple accusations of lying, including about his positions related to Project 2025, the conservative policy plan created by his allies. During the debate the fi said he hasn’t read the plan.
“She has no policy,” the former president said. “Everything that she believed three years ago and four years ago is out the window. She’s going to my philosophy now. In fact, I was going to send her a MAGA hat.”
However, the Democratic candidate did offer details of the plan she’d put into place if elected president, all part of the Harris’ “opportunity economy” plan.
There were also viral moments that included false, derogatory assertions about immigrants, misinformation about the legality of abortions, and others that gave pause and, even appalled, debate participants and viewers alike.

Social Reactions To The Presidential Debate
Watchers lauded the vice president’s ability to stick to facts and her willingness to discredit falsehoods, as well as her efforts to endear herself via mentions of her background.
Others took to social, live-tweeting while watching the debate, showing their support for the candidate of their choice and calling out the outlandish statements made by the former president.
While the former president still seemingly has fans and supporters, many on social crowned the current vice president as the victor, reinforcing that they will vote for her when Election Day comes November 5. The Harris campaign has requested that a second presidential debate be held before then.
