Protecting Your Creativity
On June 8th, Vice President of Global Brand Licensing for Artist Services at Warner Music Group Alix Kram joined subscribers of #theAgenda to share her insight on how we can protect our creativity both online and off.
For an hour, Alix dropped gems upon gems of wisdom that left everyone inspired, encouraged and motivated to be mindful of how they share their thoughts and work creatively. She also encouraged us to be thoughtful and to take risks in the workplace.
Here’s one piece of advice that resonated with many in #theAgenda:
“Do not let fear cripple you — it is a necessary construct in the exercise of humility. But if you let it grow too vocal, it will cripple you into a place of stagnation. Don’t be afraid to go beyond your reach, ask for help, learn from others and try new things.”

On tricks she’s learned when it comes to closing big deals:
“I think times have changed and there are ways to do that individually without necessarily having to enter that corporate space. Today we live in a world where an average person can become a brand based on their social following and engagement. In terms of closing a deal, biggest trick is simply common sense. Everyone wants to be heard, so the easiest thing you can do is to simply listen.”
On what she has learned about herself as she has grown in your career:
“I’ve learned to not take things personally. Nothing is precious in business, so you can’t treat it that way. However, never lose the passion for what you do. The minute that is gone it is time to move on. Also, change is crucial to evolution and evolution is growth. It is at the intersection of discomfort and change where truly great things happen.”
