The STEM Chicks
Based in Central Florida, The STEM Chicks is a 501(c)(3) organization that engages girls by providing a STEM-based education designed specifically for them — empowering them to succeed in science, technology, engineering, and math. Girls participate in fun, hands-on STEM activities, have an opportunity to hear from STEM professionals, and engage in confidence boosting experiences.
Our mission is to empower girls to succeed in science, technology, engineering, and math by promoting academic achievement and immersing them in a fun, STEM-based learning environment.
Jessica and Maxine launched STEM Chicks to bridge the gap between complex science and everyday life. Their blog combines articles and images to explain scientific concepts, from kitchen chemistry to emerging energy technologies. The pair met during an international research program in Germany and share a commitment to clear, thorough science communication that goes beyond typical popular science coverage.
