Upskilling, or the process of learning a new skill or enhancing your current skill set, is critical for women professionals looking to maintain their relevance and competitiveness. As industries undergo continuous evolutions driven by tech advancements, changes in market demands, and global connection, the ability to learn and adapt is more important than ever.

For businesses, investing in upskilling not only boosts employee productivity and performance but also helps to foster a culture of innovation and adaptability. The World Economic Forum has called the 2020s the “decade of upskilling.” Their research has found that six in 10 staff members will require more training before 2027. According to Indeed, company training programs provide mentorship and other ways for women to strengthen their abilities, leading to “strong engagement, impressive company culture and high retention rates.”

Benefits Of On-The-Job Upskilling For Millennial Professionals

For professionals, upskilling is something that keeps you competitive and allows you to thrive in your roles as you advance in your career. Brands and companies that offer training are ideal and attract top talent to meet their goals. And if you’re looking to make next job move your best job move, finding companies that offer opportunities for upskilling is simply smart. And you wouldn’t be alone.

A recent study found that 74% of millennials are likely to quit a job “due to a lack of skills development opportunities.” Also, 78% of the professionals surveyed indicated that their company’s learning and development programs “significantly” or “somewhat” benefited them, and more than 8 out of 10 indicated it’s vital that employers offer those resources.

If the consideration of training programs and opportunities for skills development is not part of your job search process, the aforementioned is a good reason to level up, do your research, and inquire during the interview process.

That being said, here are a few companies, in diverse industries, publicly noted and acknowledged for their training and upskilling offerings:
