ChatGPT is an optimized chatbot created by OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research company. Since its original launch in November 2022, the bot has amassed over 180 million users– 12% of which are from the U.S. Not only that, but major companies and startups are also learning how to implement the system in their own automations. So, how did so many flock to the AI platform so quickly and why?

The platform serves users with chatbot development, content creation, language, and more. As it continues to evolve and the number of users increase, the need to understand the platform has become more vital in the workforce as businesses begin to lean on it for new projects and streamlined processes. ChatGPT Capabilities

The platform is versatile in its offerings to both individuals and businesses. ChatGPT is most well-known for producing the following:

Customer Support: Companies can use the platform as a chatbot to provide solutions for a customer regarding a product or service.

Content Creation: Marketers and writers have turned to ChatGPT to assist in writing copy for articles, scripts, advertisements, marketing campaigns, and social media posts. It can also help with generating ideas for a topic or create an outline.

Information Search Engine: If you type in a question regarding any type of topic, the platform will reply with answers and examples to the inquiry.

Ethical Considerations

Since its release, there’s been a raised alarm to the ethics portion of the platform service. Students, for example, are using ChatGPT to plagiarize and have their research papers written for them instead of doing the work themselves. There have also been instances where employees in their professions are turning to CharGPT to do their work for them. This has led to other new software platforms to emerge and detect if this has occurred in someone’s writing.

ChatGPT has not always proved to be accurate either. While it has been tested among many industries, including the medical field, it’s only recorded as largely accurate and not 100%. If all information from the system is circulated without fact checking, then this could cause a greater issue of publishing false information to the public.

As ChatGPT is further implemented into businesses, this can allow employees to focus on more complex or creative work. As a result, this can allow a company to scale their business easier as more processes become streamlined.

It’s also a cost-saving resource because fewer employees will be needed in areas such as customer support. This will allow for the budget to be spent in other areas that can prove to be more effective.

The Future of ChatGPT In Business

Mira Murati, the former interim chief executive officer of OpenAI, told CNBC that the AI in ChatGPT will be able to collaborate with people on a more critical-thinking level as it continues to process and learn from responses and interactions in the system.

In the same interview, Murati also acknowledged the use of the platform by students. She notes that the behavior in the way today’s students are taught will need to continue to adapt to the new technologies emerging.

What’s more is that jobs among different industries will change. While they may not necessarily be eliminated, their aims and objectives may be altered to incorporate the new technology innovations.
